We would not recommend this, Sky boxes should be flat on a surface and not not vertical, they should have good airflow and have good WIFI coverage, if against a TV for instance this will reduce the WIFI connectivity of the box due to the metal parts in the TV.
Can I stand my sky box on its side?

You simply fix this to your wall behind the mounted TV position, slot inside and mount the TV over the top hiding the box altogether. Ingenious and no need to worry about the Sky box falling loose.
Can I use a magic eye with Sky Q?
A magic eye will not work with a Sky Q box. If your remote is a bluetooth one that is should still be able to work the box.
Do you need HDMI cable for Sky Q mini box?

Previously there were a number of different controllers one of which was IR only BUT any controller will work with any Q Box.

Yes it has a fan but the top can get rather warm. Gaz. I’ve got my box on top of a DVD player and after running the DVD for a while the temperature between them was pretty bad. I made 4 inch high feet and put them in the corners of the Sky+ and it made a massive difference.

Hi @vickyann you can buy extension cables for the satellite feed to the main box, or pay someone to run cables externally, it shouldn’t be a problem moving the mini box as long as it can still connect via WiFi to the main box.
Does Sky Q work with older TV?
If your TV is compatible, the picture will come on. If it doesn’t, it might be too old so it might only be HD Ready which has a resolution of 720p. In which case, you’ll need to connect the Sky Q box to a more modern Full HD TV, then change the resolution in the Sky Q box Settings to 720p.
